Sensory & Accessibility Morning 'Victorian Christmas Experience' at Strokestown Park  


Join us this Christmas at Strokestown Park, where our Victorian Christmas Experience has been sensitively adapted to ensure all children will have the opportunity to enjoy the magic of Christmas here at Strokestown Park.

Children with sensory and mobility needs along with their families and or carers will have fun and games at Strokestown Park this Christmas 2024. 

Santa will meet with families in a small group setting by the fire in Strokestown House Library.

Ticket Includes: 

  • Guided Theatrical Experience beginning in our Visitor Centre where you will be guided by a cheeky Elf to meet Santa & Mrs Claus by the fire in Strokestown House Library.
  • Followed by Traditional Handcrafted Woodland Games & Christmas Crafts in our Vaulted Stables. 
  • A token gift from Santa. 
  • Hot Drink included (Hot Chocolate, Tea Or Coffee) to enjoy in the festive surroundings of our Woodland Cafe. 

(A chill out area will be available within close proximity for child / person supported to take some time out.)

There will be lots of photo opportunities throughout the experience, we just ask that you are mindful of all other visitors joining you on the experience. 

The opportunity to have a professional photograph taken will also be available, these start at €12.50 per photo. This is NOT included in your ticket.

  • The house is NOT wheelchair accessible.

  • Each guided tour has limited capacity for the safety and enjoyment of our guests.
  • A max of two adults per booking. For our Sensory Morning, one adult / carer ticket is complimentary. 
  • Only those on the booking confirmation may enter the house
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult / carer.
  • Buggies are not permitted as part of this experience due to stairs and space available inside house, we do provide secure storage at the check in.
  • Our guided Victorian Christmas Sensory Experience will take an estimated 30mins max followed by time in Vaulted Stables for crafts and games, where there is no time limit.
  • Dress appropriately for outdoor experiences.
  • All Covid Guidelines in place at the time of the event will be adhered to.

Strokestown Park| The National Famine Museum is cared for by the Irish Heritage Trust a non-for-profit charity and your attendance at our events contribute directly to the preservation of this beautiful property for everyone to enjoy.

Terms and Conditions Events:

All children should be accompanied by an adult / carer. 

  • Tickets for this event are non-refundable and not for re-sale by third parties.
  • Please take careful note of your date and time booked, as your event is a while away and it's easy to forget or mix up dates.
  • Please be aware that if you miss your time we may not be able to accommodate you at an alternative time.
  • There is a booking fee of €1.95 per transaction.

Changes to a Service

In exceptional circumstances it may be necessary at times to change the details or itinerary of the event or of a Booking. The Company reserves the right to make reasonable alterations to any Booking made. In that event the Company will inform the Customer as soon as reasonably possible. This does not affect your statutory rights.
